California Woman Finds A Pet Carrier On A Parking Lot With 6 Pairs Of Eyes Staring Right At Her

Sharing is caring!

Rescue missions happen every day, and Erielle Bernardo knows this better than most. She is an animal care associate at Mini Cat Town in California.

However, one day stood out as both shocking and unforgettable.

It started as a typical day at work when, suddenly, a woman rushed into the cat shelter with her dog.

Shocked by the unexpected situation, Erielle politely tried to explain that dogs weren’t allowed in the facility. But the woman, speaking in a foreign language, didn’t listen.

Instead, she repeatedly tried to communicate something, and that’s when Erielle realized something was wrong.

Unable to understand the woman’s words, Erielle watched as she pulled out her phone and showed her a translated message.

The woman had found an abandoned pet carrier in the middle of the parking lot. Alarmed, the two rushed to the location.

When Erielle approached the carrier, she saw six pairs of eyes staring right at her. Six black kittens were huddled together in the back of the carrier, clearly terrified and in desperate need of help.

Though shocked, Erielle didn’t waste time reacting. She shared in an interview:

“I didn’t expect there to be six. They were obviously scared. They were huddled together, all in the back of the carrier.”

She carefully brought the kittens back to the shelter, where they were thoroughly examined.

It was determined they were about six weeks old and despite being abandoned and frightened, they were miraculously in good health.

Erielle desperately wanted to help the poor babies, but the problem was that Mini Cat Town focused mainly on adoptions rather than taking in abandoned cats and kittens.

Determined to help, Erielle explained the situation to her bosses, and thankfully, they agreed to add the kittens to the shelter’s foster program.

The team immediately began searching for a foster parent for the litter. However, Erielle couldn’t stop thinking about the kittens.

Though she had no prior experience fostering, she felt compelled to take them in – and that’s exactly what she did.

Erielle brought all six kittens home and gave them DJ-inspired names: Toki, Kaskade, Kaytra, Zedd, Partyboy, and Softie.

Fortunately, the kittens quickly adjusted to their new lives, and the fear in their eyes faded away.

With each passing day, they grew bigger, stronger, and more confident, revealing their unique personalities along the way.

Even though the kittens were siblings who looked almost identical, their personalities couldn’t have been more different.

Kaskade and Zedd were the snuggle bugs of the group, constantly seeking attention. On the other hand, Kaytra proved to be the most independent in the litter.

Toki earned the title of the loudest purrer, meanwhile, Partyboy and Softie loved wrestling with each other. Erielle proudly added:

“It is so rewarding and so fun to be with them.”

Thanks to Erielle’s love and care, the kittens are now thriving, and they will soon be ready to find their forever homes.

While no one knows who abandoned them or why, one thing is certain – they couldn’t have ended up in better hands.

Erielle’s dedication turned a dire situation into a hopeful new beginning for these kittens. Like her, I hope each of them finds their happily ever after because that’s what they truly deserve!
