Cat Found Covered In Oil At Florida Junkyard Finally Discovers Love After A Lifetime Of Neglect

A starving calico cat, drenched in motor oil and barely holding on, was discovered in a junkyard in Florida.

What looked like just another forgotten stray turned out to be the sweetest second chance. Let me tell you all about it.

A group of kind-hearted people happened to pass by the junkyard when they noticed a frail calico kitty lurking among old scraps of metal. Her condition was really bad. 

She was nothing but skin and bones, her fur matted with thick black oil, and her eyes half-shut as if even daylight was too much for her.

Someone had been feeding the cats for some time, but this poor calico had been pushed aside, left to starve. A Reddit user CassieD21 shared in an interview:

“She was with a group of 11 cats. All of their ears nipped. The rest of them eat well, but don’t let her get any. She was in horrible shape compared to the rest.”

Determined to help, the group jumped into action. But rescuing her wasn’t going to be as easy as it seemed.

Still, they refused to leave her behind. With patience and care, they managed to coax her into a box lined with a warm blanket and brought her straight home.

Once there, the true extent of her suffering became clear. She was filthy, weak, and drenched in sticky oil.

It would take time and effort to bring her back from the brink. CassieD21 shared:

“I did bathe her. Twice! Her coat went from dark gray clumpy to a soft white calico. I would have never guessed. I’ve checked inside her ears several times. That is dried oil in her ears.”

Soon, another problem surfaced. The cat seemed unusually sensitive to light, and she kept her eyes squeezed shut whenever she was exposed to brightness.

Thankfully, after a vet check, the group was relieved to learn that her eyesight was fine.

They named her Lulu and wrapped her in a cozy sweater to keep her warm.

For the first time in a long while, she felt safe. She curled up in their laps, soaking in every bit of love she could get.

Lulu’s transformation was nothing short of amazing. The weak, forgotten junkyard cat was now blossoming into a sweet, affectionate companion.

She wanted nothing more than to be close to people, curling up in their laps and purring so loudly it was as if she was trying to say thank you with every breath. Cassie shared:

“She can’t stop purring and wants to be loved. Either in your lap, while you sleep, or rubbing your leg. She’s too cute!”

In the end, Lulu’s story had the happiest twist of all. She didn’t just find safety; she found her forever home.

CassieD21, the one who had been by her side from the very beginning, couldn’t bear to let her go, sharing:

“I decided to adopt her because she NEEDED a good home. She was severely malnourished, covered in oil, eyes constantly closed shut, etc. She needed someone to take care of her and give her some love. Now she has my SO, my lab-Miles, and I. A perfect home.”

Today, she’s a beautiful, happy cat who finally knows comfort, safety, and affection.

She’s living the good life, napping on soft blankets, soaking up endless cuddles, and following her humans around like she’s always belonged there.
