The rescuers knew this little kitten needed help immediately. So they called San Antonio Animal Care Services, hoping trained professionals could reach her safely.

Officers Guevara and Perry arrived quickly, prepared for a rescue unlike any they’d encountered before.

Unlike kittens stuck high up in trees, this one was dangerously low, with cars zooming past only inches away. Every movement had to be careful and precise.

Not only did they need to get the kitten to safety, but they also had to make sure she didn’t panic and dash into traffic.

With steady hands and calm energy, the officers managed to scoop her up and finally brought her to a safe spot where she could breathe and feel secure.

“Animal Care Officers Guevara and Perry sprang into action after receiving a call about faint meows coming from an unusual place—underneath a crosswalk pole! Cautious of the nearby interstate, the duo carefully located and rescued a terrified kitten trapped at the bottom of the light pole.”

Thanks to the keen eyes of the residents and the professionalism of the officers, the kitten was safe and sound in no time.

Now, the little furball is resting comfortably in the care of San Antonio Pets Alive, getting love, attention, and waiting for her forever home.
