California Fast Food Employee Stunned As Ball Python Slithers Across Drive-Through

It’s not every day that a trip to In-N-Out results in an unexpected encounter with wildlife—but that’s exactly what happened at a Monrovia, California drive-thru. 

While customers were ordering their burgers and fries, an employee made a discovery that left everyone astonished: a live python had somehow found its way into the fast food lane.

The staffer, who has chosen to remain anonymous, quickly realized that this wasn’t a harmless toy or an unusual decoration—it was a real, full-sized snake, gracefully coiled but clearly out of place. 

With a mix of surprise and concern, the employee acted fast and contacted Pasadena Humane, the local animal welfare organization, to ensure the snake’s safety.

In a statement posted on social media, Pasadena Humane said:

“At this time, we have not determined whether the snake is male or female. They seem to have been well taken care of, so it’s possible they only recently escaped their home. Please spread the word so we can locate their guardian!”

Once in the hands of the professionals, the python was carefully placed on a soft white towel, a scene captured in photos shared by Pasadena Humane. 

The animal seemed calm, and the staff noted that it posed no threat, which allowed them to handle it safely and comfortably.

It’s unclear how the snake ended up in the drive-thru, but a likely explanation is that it escaped from its home. 

Exotic pets like pythons require careful housing, temperature control, and security to prevent accidents. 

Unfortunately, even the most responsible pet owners can occasionally experience escapes, leading to surprise encounters like the one at Monrovia’s In-N-Out.

Pasadena Humane shared the story online to help locate the snake’s owner, and fortunately, the update has a happy ending. 

The snake was successfully reunited with its family, ensuring it returned safely to the home it knew and loved. As they shared in an update:

“Meanwhile, all the way in Redlands, Vanessa was cutting hair at the barbershop where she worked when a news story about the In-N-Out snake came on the TV. Vanessa was stunned—the snake was the spitting image of her family’s own ball python that had escaped from their home in San Bernardino in August, right down to the specific markings.”

The discovery sparked reactions online from both animal lovers and fast food enthusiasts. 

Many praised the In-N-Out employee for acting quickly and responsibly, ensuring the snake wasn’t harmed while waiting for professional help.

While most days at the drive-thru are filled with burgers, fries, and shakes, this unexpected visitor reminded everyone that wildlife can turn up in the most surprising places.
