Alabama Woman Needs Her Garage Back, So She Builds An Incredible Tiny Home For Her Cats
A loving pet owner needed a safe place for her seven cats to sleep at night. Her solution was a custom-built feline apartment that completely transformed their lives.
A Safe Place To Sleep
Keeping seven rescue cats safe at night is a big responsibility for any pet parent.
To ensure her beloved felines were protected from the elements and nighttime dangers, a dedicated cat mom started keeping them in the family garage.
It was a practical solution that offered peace of mind, but it wasn’t meant to be permanent.
Eventually, her husband was ready to get his garage back for its intended purpose.
Proposing A Creative Solution
Rather than just moving the cats back inside a crowded house, she proposed a brilliant solution.
She decided to build them their very own "cat cabin."
Throughout the entire design process, she kept her feline family’s specific needs in mind.
She was determined to create a beautiful space where her cats could truly thrive and be happy.
Designing The Perfect Crib
The construction process involved adding plenty of windows to let in natural light.
She wanted the cats to have a great view of the yard while feeling secure inside.
When the structure was finally finished, she proudly welcomed viewers to "their crib."
The interior was designed to function just like a miniature apartment.
An Open Floor Plan
Inside, the cat cabin features a spacious open floor plan.
To satisfy the cats’ natural instinct to climb, she included two separate loft areas.
She even installed a massive floor-to-ceiling scratching post right in the center of the room.
It was the ultimate feline playground, perfectly tailored to their habits.
Cautious But Curious
The first time the cats stepped paw into their new cabin, they weren’t quite sure what to make of it.
They explored the space with cautious steps and curious sniffs.
It didn’t take long for them to realize this incredible tiny home was built just for them.
Now, they absolutely love going up high and settling into the lofts to sleep.
Freedom To Roam
To give the cats the best of both worlds, the cabin was fitted with a special doggy door.
This clever addition allows the cats to come and go as they please during the day.
Since they officially moved in three weeks ago, their mom has continued to make cozy improvements.
The space has quickly become a comfortable sanctuary for the whole feline family.
A Husband’s Green Thumb
Even though her husband originally just wanted his garage back, he deeply loves the cats too.
To prove it, he built them a fantastic outdoor cat garden right next to the cabin.
He filled the garden with cat-friendly plants, including fresh cat grass and catnip.
His wife joked about how lucky she was to have a man who plants calming herbs for their pets.
Room For One More
The beautiful new garden quickly turned into the cats’ favorite social spot.
While some love lounging in the fresh air, others prefer to stay cozy inside the cabin all day, which is perfectly fine.
The space has been such a success that the family recently welcomed an eighth cat into the mix.
Every night, their devoted mom feeds them and tucks everybody in, knowing that as soon as the sun comes up, they’ll be ready to enjoy their incredible home all over again.
