Watch The Heartwarming Moment An Anxious Rottweiler Calms Down After Getting A Special Gift

You know how some dogs are total goofballs from day one? Well, Dyce wasn’t really one of them.
This big, handsome Rottweiler came into the world with a mind full of worries. From the very beginning, the world just felt a little too loud and a little too much for him.
Going outside? Nope. Passing other dogs on walks? Total stress-fest. Even with his parents, Anouk and her partner, by his side, Dyce just couldn’t relax.

Walks were the hardest. While most pups are all tail-wags and sniffs, Dyce was tense, always on edge. Anouk shared in an interview:
“He was very anxious, and that turned [into] reactivity.”
And even though he’s truly the biggest sweetheart at home, strangers didn’t get to see that side. Most folks would cross the street to avoid him.

That really broke his mom’s heart. She knew how loving he was, but no one else could see it.
Anouk tried everything, but nothing seemed to calm Dyce’s mind. Then one day, something unexpected happened.
Anouk had brought home a few plush toys, just to see if Dyce would enjoy them. She handed them over, not expecting much.

But Dyce? He had other plans.
Out of the bunch, he picked up a soft, blue octopus and carried it like it was treasure. Straight to his cozy little corner.
From that moment on, something changed. The blue octopus became Dyce’s comfort.

He didn’t chew it up like you’d expect from a big boy like him. Nope.
He cuddled it. Groomed it with his tongue. Slept beside it like it was keeping him safe, as Anouk shared:
“He was very sweet with this one, sleeping with the toy, washing the toy with his tongue, even [being] a little protective over the toy.”

It was the first thing that really soothed him. And the real magic? It showed up on walks.
The first time Dyce took his blue octopus out with him, it was like someone flipped a switch. He wasn’t on edge.
He didn’t bark or growl or freeze. He just walked. Calmly. Happily. Like a totally different dog. The toy seemed to work like a security blanket for Dyce.

From then on, walks looked totally different. Dyce would actually look forward to them.
And every time his parents grabbed the leash, he’d make a beeline to his bed to grab his trusty octopus. No plushie, no peace, as Anouk shared:
“He will look for the octopus first before he goes on walks. If he forgets, he runs to the octopus as soon as he’s at home.”

Eventually, his toy collection grew. Now he has a trio of plush buddies he rotates between depending on his mood.
But that blue octopus? Still number one in his heart.
It’s honestly the sweetest thing. This once-nervous pup found a silly little toy that makes the world feel less scary.

And for Anouk, that’s huge. She knows Dyce doesn’t just need training or structure. He needs love, reassurance, and yes… his emotional support octopus.
Now, all he needs for a good walk is two things: his mom and his toy. With those in place, he’s the happiest boy on the block.
