Out Of All The Cats In The Shelter, A Young Boy Picks The One No One Else Would

We’re all familiar with the growing number of abandoned and stray cats. While cute, young kittens often find homes, older cats are sadly left behind in shelters with little hope.
But this story is different, thanks to a kind-hearted young boy.
Easton is a young boy whose mother promised to bring a new pet into their family. Everyone expected him to pick a kitten, but he surprised everyone.
Out of all the cats and kittens at the shelter, Easton chose Tiny, a 10-year-old large ginger cat from the Exploits Valley SPCA.

Before Easton came along, Tiny’s chances of being adopted were slim. Despite his kind nature, no one showed interest in him because he was older and overweight.
However, the moment Easton laid eyes on Tiny, he knew he had to bring him home.
His mom shared that Tiny’s loving and affectionate personality immediately captured Easton’s heart. He didn’t care about how old or heavy Tiny was; he was more drawn to his spirit. She said:
“Easton loved Tiny because Tiny loved him. He was never withdrawn around him from the second he saw him.”
Tiny and Easton quickly bonded and became best friends. When they got home from the shelter, Tiny got out of his carrier and immediately snuggled next to Easton.
He didn’t care about anyone else but Easton and he was happy. After a long time, Tiny finally had everything he had ever dreamed of.

To some people, this story may not be impressive, as cats get adopted almost every day. But to me, it’s very special, and I think this young boy knows better than most of us.
According to the ASPCA, older animals are the last to be adopted and the first to be euthanized, especially in overcrowded shelters.
So, by adopting Tiny, Easton didn’t only get a new friend, but also saved Tiny’s life. He taught everyone a lesson that a cat’s age and physical appearance shouldn’t be the main factors when adopting a pet.
He chose Tiny for his lovely personality, and he knows that Tiny will bring love and joy to him and his family.

Thanks to this young boy’s kindness and generous heart, Tiny is now thriving. He has finally found a loving home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by caring humans.
Let this touching story serve as a reminder when you’re considering adopting a new pet. There are so many advantages to adopting a shelter cat, especially senior ones.
Next time, look beyond the age and find the senior cat with a beautiful soul. Give them a chance to spend their remaining time in a warm, loving home.
