Cat Dangling From Utility Lines In New Jersey Rescued Just Seconds Before It Was Too Late
Acts of kindness toward animals often happen when they’re needed most, and one recent moment in New Jersey proved just that.
Two employees from a local internet service provider jumped into action after spotting a helpless cat stuck high above the ground on utility lines in Hardwick Township.
The frightened feline had somehow managed to climb up and couldn’t find a way down.
When animal control officers arrived, they quickly realised this wasn’t going to be an easy rescue.
The cat was tangled in a dangerous position, and the weather forecast made things worse – heavy rain was on the way.
The clock was ticking, and everyone on the scene knew they had to work fast to save her before conditions became too risky.

Fortunately, an animal control officer from Newton Animal Control arrived on the scene promptly and was deeply moved by what he later described in a Facebook post, as “the level of community involvement and compassion.”
Recalling the whole event, the officer wrote:
“I arrived on scene to find three women attempting to coax him down while keeping an eye on him. I immediately called NJSP who dispatched troopers and also attempted to get a truck out there to assist. I got a phone call minutes after arriving on the scene from a local tree company who offered to come out immediately free of charge. Before they could get there, Planet Network pulled up with two cat loving employees who jumped right into action.”

It didn’t take long for this group of dedicated individuals to successfully rescue the cat.
While the cat was understandably very distressed by the ordeal, there was no doubt he felt a great sense of relief once he was safely out of harm’s way.

In his Facebook post, the officer expressed his thanks to everyone who played a part in the rescue.
He first acknowledged Lisa Chammings, Kristina Lambert, and Chris Suiker, who couldn’t bear to leave a distressed cat in danger.
He also offered his gratitude to Blessings Tree Service & Landscaping, who immediately stepped up and offered their services without hesitation.

Finally, he expressed his thanks to the two courageous individuals, Wyatt Coombs and Rob Nye from Planet Networks, the local internet service provider in Newton, New Jersey.
They didn’t hesitate to assist with the rescue, even though it meant putting their own safety at risk.
He concluded his post by saying:
“The compassion for animals with all of those mentioned is unmatched and we are very grateful.”

I’m beyond thrilled that this poor tomcat was saved from such a dangerous situation.
But what fills me with even greater gratitude is knowing that there are still so many kind-hearted individuals in the world, like those involved in this rescue.
These selfless people are willing to put everything on the line to help animals in need, reminding us all that compassion and kindness are alive and well in our communities.
