A completely unexpected event happened to Casey P., a woman from Jackson, Mississippi.
One day, she went to take something from a vending machine near her apartment, but after pressing the selection button, all she got was a meow.
Shocked and confused, Casey decided to investigate, never expecting that she’d return home with a new furry friend.
Casey was baffled, especially because she couldn’t see a cat anywhere around. Determined to solve the mystery, she pressed the machine button again, and once more, she heard a meow.
Looking more closely, she noticed that the vending machine was positioned half on the sidewalk and half on the driveway next to a building. Upon further inspection, she found an opening for the motor at the bottom.
Peeking inside, Casey saw a tail sticking out and realized a cat was stuck inside the vending machine. Despite calling out, the scared cat wouldn’t move, but Case quickly came up with an idea. She shared on the blog:
“I remembered that my friends had left us some cat treats when we were pet sitting the prior week. I ran home to grab them and came back.”
With the help of the treats, Casey was able to lure the cat out. She quickly wrapped the cold, frightened feline in a towel to keep him warm and brought him home for the night.
The next day, Casey took the well-cared-for cat around the neighborhood to see if anyone recognized him. To her surprise, no one knew anything about the cat.
At that point, Casey and her family had already fallen in love with the little guy and decided they couldn’t let him go. It felt like they were destined to meet, so they officially adopted him.
Casey wanted to name him Vendor, but in the end, the family named him Teddy Bear. Now, he’s living a happy, cozy life, just as he deserves.
