Feral Kitten Was Lying On A Lawn Paralyzed By Fear But His Life Took An Unexpected Turn

Sharing is caring!

One day, a woman found a feral kitten on her lawn. She was surprised to see such a young soul alone and wondered if his mama abandoned him, or if he simply lost his way.

However, what bothered her even more was that he was so still. This tiny kitten lay in the grass, stiff as a statue. The woman thought he was injured, so she called Paws for the Cause Feral Cat Rescue, and the team quickly arrived.

However, what awaited them was a heartwarming surprise. The kitty wasn’t injured, just paralyzed by fear. It was heartbreaking to consider what was going through his little head.

Laura Wilhelm-Bruzek, the rescue center’s director, shared in an interview:

“He was so terrified that he stayed in that lawn for hours, not moving. The finders thought he was injured.”

As the team approached closer, they were amazed by the beauty of this lynx point Siamese kitten. His big blue eyes, filled with uncertainty and fear, moved them deeply and they knew they had to save him.

With his mama nowhere around, the poor thing was terrified of human touch. So they gently scooped him up and brought him to the rescue center, naming him Meeko.

For the five-week-old Meeko, this was the start of a new life, filled with warmth, hearty meals, and most importantly, lots of love. Laura shared:

“He was still pretty shaken the first couple of days but since ‘feral’ cats are our specialty we know just what to do to get them to turn for us – lots of firm, assertive petting and wet food!”

The shelter staff thought Meeko might need a furry friend to relax, so they introduced him to one of their rescue cats, Butch. Little did they know, this encounter would spark a heartwarming friendship that would change the timid feline forever.

As soon as they met, Butch decided to take Meeko under his wing. Like a true father figure, he ensured his little buddy felt safe and sound.

Reflecting on those sweet moments, Laura shared:

“As soon as he started to soften up we introduced him to Butch, it was all uphill after that.”

These two formed a bond that melted everyone’s hearts. It seemed that Butch knew his purpose was to show Meeko that the world wasn’t such a scary place after all.

Under Butch’s devoted care, Meeko’s fear started to fade away. He became more relaxed and delighted everyone with his purring.

In just four days with his loving buddy, Meeko was unrecognizable. It’s amazing what a little love from a best pal can do, isn’t it?

From a wild feral baby terrified of humans, Meeko turned into the sweetest kitten, so playful and lively. As Laura shared:

“He is an incredibly loving and sweet kitten. He loves water and will jump straight into a full bathtub.”

Two months passed and Meeko blossomed into a big confident boy and a true heart-stealer. The shelter knew he was ready to capture the heart of someone who would give him a loving home so they began their search.

Of course, it didn’t take long for this charmer to find his perfect match. Soon, a kind-hearted family welcomed him into their home, with open arms and hearts full of love.

But here’s the best part: besides two adorable pups, this family had another lynx point Siamese cat named Meeko! Can you believe this cat-tastic coincidence?!

It was such a wonderful ending for Meeko’s journey, wasn’t it? I bet these two now rule the house as they run through the halls with tails held high and hearts full of joy!
