Emily Emby is a proud cat mom of two adorable Ragdoll Cats, Nori and Saki. The trio resides in New York City, enjoying the beautiful life they have together.
Every so often, they open their home – and their hearts – to foster cats in need, providing a temporary home before the cats move to their forever families.
Emily cherishes all her fosters, but one particular kitty, with her feisty personality, captured her heart and left a lasting impression.
Meet Maple Lee, a stunning cat who entered Emily’s life with one big secret…
The moment Emily met Maple, she was smitten.
This sweet feline was not only affectionate and friendly, purring contentedly in Emily’s presence, but also the sweetest cat Emily had ever encountered, as she described in one interview.
The cat clung to her, refusing to let go, while showering her with her irresistible feline love.
However, Maple’s demeanor took a sharp turn when she encountered Nori and Saki. The once tender kitty transformed into a feisty wildling in the presence of the other cats.
Due to Maple’s aggressive behavior towards Nori and Saki, Emily decided to isolate her in the bathroom until she could acclimate to the presence of other cats.
Despite this, Maple remained territorial and overprotective, hissing whenever she caught a glimpse of the two Ragdolls.
Emily grew suspicious, noting that although Maple was quite skinny when they first met, she had begun to rapidly gain weight, particularly around her belly.
At one point, she touched her stomach and felt something moving. The cat mom was struck by a sudden realization: Could her sweet foster feline be pregnant?
Days passed, and Maple remained the same – sweet and affectionate with Emily but hostile toward Nori and Saki.
However, one day everything changed!
With glistening eyes, this not-usually-talkative kitty approached her mom, letting out several soft “Meows.”
It was as though she was trying to tell Emily, “Mom, it’s time! I’m ready!”
Trilled it was finally kitten o’clock, Emily quickly prepared everything for Maple, and in no time, four adorable kittens came into their lives.

Maple’s delivery was calm and smooth. Reflecting on the experience, Emily said:
“The whole thing was such a miracle to watch! I couldn’t even believe that this was going on. Maple was literally hugging them. She was so happy to finally meet her children.”
Talking about Maple as a mother, Emily affectionately shared:
“Maple is one of the most maternal souls I have ever met in my life. She is so loving and so protective.”
It turned out Maple’s aggression towards Nori and Saki was actually her way of protecting her unborn kittens. How adorable is that?!
Let’s Meet Maple’s Kittens
Sweet mama Maple gave birth to four adorable kittens, each with their own unique personalities.
Here’s feisty Ghost! Described by Emily as the most rambunctious, this sweet boy is brimming with energy and is always ready to play.
Then, there’s Jalapeño – the friendliest of them all! This sweet lady loves everyone and spreads joy wherever she goes!
Little Habanero is the gem of the litter! As Emily puts it:
“He just wants to sit next to you and tell you you’re pretty!”
Lastly, there’s Szechuan, the sweet love bug who Emily jokingly calls the bookworm of the group. She might just be my spirit animal, haha!
Emily made sure her adorable fosters found forever homes with people she knew – so she could visit them whenever she wanted! Points for the best foster mom ever, right?
While it was sad to see them go, Emily recognized that this was a natural part of any foster journey.
Overall, she was thrilled to have met Maple Lee and her kittens, describing watching Maple become a mom as beyond rewarding and one of the best experiences of her life.
