Las Vegas Kitten Heartbroken After Her Mom Took Her Siblings And Never Came Back

Ellen Richter from Las Vegas, Nevada recently fostered an adorable kitten named Hadley, and their story truly touched my heart. Let’s rewind to the start of this heartwarming journey!
Known as Foster Kitten Tails on Instagram, Ellen regularly shares the inspiring stories of the cats and kittens she fosters.

One of her posts featured a kitten in desperate need of help, a little sweetheart named Hadley. She was found alone in a woman’s backyard, with no sign of her mother.
The woman had noticed the mama cat moving her kittens away from the yard, but never returned for Hadley.

Despite waiting in hope, the woman realized Hadley had been abandoned and immediately reached out to Ellen, knowing she was the perfect person to foster the kitten.

Ellen didn’t hesitate to take Hadley in, though she knew it would be a challenge.
At just 5 to 7 days old, Hadley needed round-the-clock care, including bottle feeding every two hours, even through the night. Ellen set up a special spot for her, saying in her post:
“She’ll be in her own area, quarantined and bottle-fed, to ensure she’s healthy and has no possible contagious skin issues.”

For the first week, Hadley was thriving. She nursed well, had regular bowel movements, and gained weight like a healthy kitten should.
At this point, Ellen had an idea. She was also fostering a mama cat named Liberty and her kittens, and thought it might be beneficial to introduce Hadley to Liberty’s family.

Ellen wanted to introduce little Hadley to the mama cat, hoping she could nurse together with her kittens.
It was a struggle at first, but Ellen managed to introduce little Hadley! As she shared in an update:
“It’s been a bit of a challenge introducing, but we’re getting there. I’m happy she’s able to spend time with other kittens, as well as getting some of mama’s milk. It’s full of nutrition and will help her be healthy.”

However, things took a turn when Hadley started facing challenges.
The other kittens began attacking her, so Ellen had to resume bottle feeding as Hadley wasn’t getting enough milk.

Worse still, Hadley lost her appetite and developed diarrhea. Ellen was worried, but she never gave up on her.
After nearly four days, Hadley’s appetite returned, and thankfully, the diarrhea stopped as well.

From there, Hadley started growing stronger and more energetic. In just a few weeks, she was a healthy, active kitten!
Meanwhile, Ellen rescued another stray mama cat, Darcy, and her kittens. To Ellen’s surprise, Darcy immediately began treating Hadley like one of her own.
Hadley became the best of friends with Darcy’s kittens, and they spent their days jumping, playing, and napping together.

A couple, who had been following Hadley’s journey on Instagram, reached out to Ellen, eager to adopt her and offer her a forever home!
Saying goodbye to Hadley was tough, but Ellen knew it was time for her to start a new chapter. In her farewell post, she said:
“I’m so happy to see you thrive and can now start the next adventure, surrounded by love and happiness.”
Thanks to Ellen’s dedication, Hadley went from an abandoned kitten to a healthy, playful cat ready to live her best life!
We’re so grateful for Ellen’s hard work in giving these vulnerable cats a second chance at happiness and love!
