Colorado Man Sees Little Shape On Steep Cliff And Calls For Help Once He Realizes What It Is

For one older man in Colorado, the day started like any other. Nothing unusual. Just a quiet morning. But then something made him stop.

Far off in the distance, on the edge of a steep cliff, he spotted a tiny shape clinging to the side. At first, he wasn’t even sure what he was seeing. It looked wrong and out of place.

Then it hit him. That wasn’t a rock. It wasn’t debris either. It was a dog.

A small pup, stuck in a dangerous spot with no obvious way out. Alone, scared, and barely holding on.

“The dirt kept sliding out from under her, but she kept trying. When I was down on the cliffside with her, she tried crawling towards me again.”

When Officer Barker finally reached her, the little dog showered her with licks, as if thanking her for not giving up. Officer Johnson then lowered a catchpole, allowing Barker to secure the pup so she wouldn’t slip any further.

They couldn’t risk another second. Once the safety ropes were in place, Officer Johnson began the slow, careful process of pulling them both back up. Inch by inch, they made their way to solid ground.

With the pup finally safe, they took her straight to the shelter for a checkup. That’s when they found the clue that would lead them to her family: a tag and a microchip.

The pup’s name was Jessie Lee. And, as it turned out, she hadn’t just wandered off that day. Jessie Lee had been missing for two whole weeks. Her home was only a few blocks away from the cliff, yet somehow, she had ended up in such a dangerous place.

The moment they got the call, her family rushed to the shelter to pick her up, overwhelmed with relief and joy.

Thanks to a kindhearted man, dedicated rescuers, and the microchip, Jessie Lee was finally going home, back where she belonged.
