When Katie adopted an orphaned kitten named Pym, she expected normal feline behavior. Instead, she got a ‘soul cat’ with a very unusual daily spa routine.

A Rough Start In A Field

Before she became the pampered, confident house cat she is today, Pym had a very difficult start to life.

The tiny feline was discovered outside in a rural area, huddling under a fence in a field. A local farmer happened to spot the vulnerable animal and stepped in to help.

Pym wasn’t alone in her struggle for survival. She and her siblings were an entire litter of orphaned kitties who desperately needed someone to rescue them.

Thankfully, they were brought to safety, setting the stage for Pym to find a family of her own.

An Instant And Deep Connection

When a woman named Katie heard about the rescued orphans, she decided to open her home to the sweet little cat.

This was Katie’s very first time owning a cat, so she wasn’t entirely sure what normal kitten behavior was supposed to look like. However, she quickly realized that Pym was exceptionally affectionate.

She didn’t jump in immediately. Instead, she spent her time carefully walking around the perimeter of the bathtub, peering over the edge and inspecting the running water.

The very next time Katie turned the water on, Pym bravely hopped right down into the tub, beginning a habit that would last a lifetime.

Running Toward The Sound

Today, Pym’s fascination with the bathroom has turned into a full-blown daily obsession.

Anytime the shower starts running, the quirky cat comes sprinting from the other room as fast as her legs can carry her.

It truly doesn’t matter where she is hiding or if she is sound asleep in another part of the house. The moment she hears that familiar sound, she knows exactly what is about to happen.

"She is definitely obsessed," Katie explains. "She can’t get enough."

The Perfect Temperature

Pym isn’t just playing with the puddles on the floor; she actively participates in the shower experience.

Her favorite move is to sit down in the tub and put her head directly under the faucet. She loves feeling the full stream of water pouring right over her head.

Katie has noticed that her feline friend is actually quite picky about the water temperature. If the water is even slightly lukewarm, Pym refuses to participate—she demands it be very warm.

Katie wonders if her cat’s early days living outside in the elements made her comfortable with the feeling of rain, making the warm indoor shower feel like a comforting luxury.

Keeping Things Safe And Natural

While Pym is a regular in the shower, Katie is very careful to ensure her pet’s health and safety.

She never uses any human products, soaps, or shampoos on the cat. The entire experience is strictly just warm water for Pym to enjoy.

Because cats are naturally very clean animals who groom themselves, Katie knows Pym doesn’t actually need the shower for hygiene.

The sweet cat simply loves the way the warm water feels on her fur, and she would happily stay in the tub all day if allowed.

The Spa Treatment Routine

Of course, every good shower has to end eventually, even if Pym disagrees.

Sometimes she will hop out on her own, but there are plenty of times when Katie has to turn off the faucet and scoop the soaking wet cat out of the tub.

The post-shower routine has become just as important as the water itself. Pym absolutely loves being thoroughly dried off with a warm towel.

To make things even more adorable, Pym has her very own tiny robe. She loves being scrubbed dry and then held close while wearing it.

A Soul Cat For Life

From an abandoned kitten huddling under a fence to a pampered house cat with a daily spa routine, Pym’s life has completely transformed.

Katie describes her as a sweet cat through and through, noting that there isn’t a mean bone in her entire body.

The two share a bond so deep that Katie often jokes they must have been together in a past life.

"We are very, very bonded," Katie says. "I love her more than anything and she’s my soul cat."
