This Cat Was Waiting In A Minnesota Shelter For Months Until His Forever Mom Came Along

Sharing is caring!

The cat from today’s story had more than a rough start in life. Born on the streets of Minnesota, he was rescued with many injuries and health issues.

The Animal Humane Society in Minnesota named him Bruce Willis, and he instantly captured their hearts.

Although he had led a harsh street life until then, Mr. Willis turned out to be the most affectionate cat the shelter staff had ever met.

When he noticed visitors approaching he would turn on his purr machine and adorably ask for some attention.

Unfortunately, with many injuries from his previous life and an eye infection that didn’t heal properly, Mr. Willis looked way older than he was.

In addition, they discovered that the poor soul was suffering from feline immunodeficiency virus, shortly known as FIV.

Once the shelter posted his picture online, one woman instantly fell in love with the sad look on Mr. Willis’s face.

Sandra decided to visit him the next day, but there was a catch. She was not in a position to adopt since her landlord had a strict ‘no pets’ rule.

She knew it was risky to meet Mr. Willis, but she couldn’t stop thinking about his sad face.

Once Sandra came close to him, he immediately started purring and putting his paws on Sandra’s hands.

She was stunned by his sweet nature, yet heartbroken she couldn’t take him home with her. From that day on, Sandra made sure to visit Mr. Willis every now and then and bring him some treats.

However, every time she had to leave the shelter without Mr. Willis by her side she felt like she betrayed him somehow especially since he bonded with her.

Sandra decided to ask her landlord hoping this one time, he would make an exception. And it turned out she was right! He replied with a short ‘no problem’ and she immediately contacted the shelter.

She couldn’t believe that Mr. Willis was about to finally go home with her. She went to pick him up and from the moment he entered her apartment he rolled over on the carpet and started purring.

It was almost as if he was telling her ‘Finally, I’m home!’. Mr. Willis kept his name and he quickly adjusted to the indoor life.

Napping on Sandra’s lap, having all the treats in the world, and a warm bed it wasn’t that hard for him to adjust!

I’m so glad Sandra never gave up on him and gave him the home he truly deserved. Make sure to follow Mr. Willis over on Instagram for some adorable pictures and updates!
