Property Managers Read A Note On Empty House In Kansas, Then Make A Heartbreaking Discovery
When Point Guard Management employees came to one of their recently vacated properties in Wichita, Kansas, they saw a handwritten note taped to the door.
It wasn’t from the former tenants, but from the neighbors.
The note revealed that the moving family hadn’t taken everyone with them; they had left behind a cat and her newborn kittens.
Patricia Mitnaul, the company’s social media manager, immediately began searching the property, hoping the little family was still close by.
Before long, a tiny cat appeared, walking straight up to her as if she’d been waiting for someone to finally notice.
This sweet mama hadn’t given up on humans. She rubbed against Patricia’s legs, purred, and weaved between her feet like she’d just found her new best friend.
Patricia offered the cat some food and water, and it was clear immediately how much she trusted her.
Friendly, affectionate, and craving attention, the little mama quickly won Patricia over. She named her Sissy.
But Sissy’s kittens were missing. Patricia combed the yard, porch, and even under furniture, but couldn’t find them anywhere.

They managed to catch one of the kittens in the garage, but the others slipped back under the house.
That’s when Kirsten, one of Patricia’s coworkers, stepped up and volunteered to crawl under the building to rescue the kittens. It was dark, dusty, and tight, but she didn’t back down.
After a long, tense wait, the team managed to coax the kittens out one by one using food. When the last little furball was safely in their arms, everyone breathed a huge sigh of relief.
The family was rushed straight to the vet, and it turned out they had arrived just in time.
Sissy and her kittens were battling a serious roundworm infection, and without help, their chances of survival were slim.
