Houston Mama Cat That Gave Birth Under A Car In The Pouring Rain Gets All Her Prayers Answered
Life isn’t easy for stray animals, and Rue knew that all too well. She had been trying to survive on the Houston streets, scavenging for food and shelter.
Then, one day, she gave birth under a parked car during a cold rainstorm. Her tiny newborns had no warmth, no safety, and no real chance, until a kind woman stepped in to change everything.
When Erin, a devoted cat rescuer, heard about Rue and her babies, she didn’t waste a second.

Still, the challenges weren’t over. Rue, exhausted and probably traumatized from life on the streets, didn’t want to feed Riley at first.
Erin had to carefully position her so the tiny kitten could nurse, sharing on Instagram:
“Rue lets her nurse, but only if I force her to roll over. And she stops if any little thing spooks her. The baby is not gaining weight fast enough.”
It was a tough time, but Erin refused to give up. Slowly, Riley began to grow stronger.
When Rue’s milk eventually dried up, Erin switched Riley to formula and bottle-fed him around the clock.
With each passing day, the bond between Rue and her little survivor grew sweeter. Erin was overjoyed, as she shared:
“I love watching Rue and her baby interact. She loves him so much and does a great job caring for him. He is the only survivor of her litter of 4 kittens. He is a fighter!”
As Riley grew into a healthy, playful kitten, Erin knew what she had to do. She had fostered countless cats before, but this pair was different.
Rue and Riley shared such a strong bond that separating them felt unthinkable. They were meant to stay together.
