Dumped Cat From New York Subway Gets Whisked Away To Safety In A Purse

Sharing is caring!

A sweet cat found alone on the stairs of a subway station transformed into a purring, affectionate lap cat within just a few days.

It all began when Meagan, the president of PuppyKittyNYCity, a rescue organization, was on her way to work. She received an urgent call about a frightened cat huddled in fear at a subway station, and she couldn’t ignore it.

Even though her rescue was already at capacity, Meagan knew she had to help this cat. As she put it:

“There is no way we could let this baby stay in the subway station all day long.”

The poor cat was curled up on the cold subway stairs, trying his best to hide from the noisy city chaos. His big eyes looked terrified, but despite his fear, he showed no aggression.

When the person who found him reached out, he even allowed them to pet him. Meagan quickly changed her plans and rushed to the scene. And one of the volunteers stayed by the cat’s side to comfort him and keep him safe until she arrived.

When Meagan arrived, she found the cat curled up on the volunteer’s lap, nestled close as if he felt safe in her arms. Without her usual rescue equipment, Meagan had to get creative.

She emptied her purse and carefully placed the cat inside. To her relief, he snuggled in without any fuss, fitting perfectly. On the walk back to her car, he leaned into her, as if he knew he was finally safe.

Once they got in the car, Meagan decided to name him Subway, fitting for a cat found on the stairs of a subway station.

Although he was a bit shaken from his time outdoors, he started to calm down in the warmth of the car, sensing he was on his way to a better life.

Over the next few days, Subway received a thorough check-up at the vet and the care he needed to start his new, cozy chapter. As he adjusted to his new surroundings, his personality blossomed.

This once-scared subway cat transformed into a friendly, playful lap cat with a heart full of love.

About a year old, Subway still had a kitten-like spirit. He loved to play but seemed to enjoy human affection even more.

“He’s literally perfect and so friendly. He’d be a great first cat or an amazing addition to any home.”

With each passing day, Subway grew more confident. He was no longer the shy cat hiding on the stairs; now, he approached people with his tail high and a steady purr, eager for pets and attention.

He’s incredibly gentle and adores the affection he receives. And as if his sweet personality wasn’t enough, Subway also loves spending time with other cats, fitting right in with his new furry friends.

Subway has fully embraced his new life, happily hopping onto any available lap and softly kneading as he settles in. His favorite thing is cuddling up to his humans, especially when he’s getting his cheeks scratched.

He even comes when called, gazing up at his caretakers with big, loving eyes, always ready for another petting session.

Thanks to the kindness of his rescuers, Subway has gone from a frightened subway stray to a cherished, purring lap cat.

Within a month he found his forever home and now spends his days enjoying warm laps, tasty meals, and the cozy comforts of indoor life.
