This Special Needs Kitty From Missouri Completely Transforms When She’s Hungry

We’ve all heard the famous “You’re not you when you’re hungry” Snickers slogan, but I don’t think I ever fully grasped its meaning until I came across a certain cat online.
One evening, while scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled upon a video of a special needs kitty eating her dinner with pure determination.
Her name was Wobbles, and her unforgettable story was just beginning to unfold.

Wobbles is a Missouri-based feline who shares her life with her foster mom Kelly Manno, a cofounder of Smelly Cat Rescue. She came into Kelly’s life as a ten-week-old kitten and quickly captured her heart.
Contrary to what you may think, her name is not a mere coincidence. Wobbles was born with cerebellar hypoplasia, a developmental condition also known as the “wobbly cat syndrome.”
This condition results from incomplete development of the cerebellum, the part of the brain responsible for motor skills, coordination, and balance.

Cerebellar hypoplasia usually occurs when a pregnant cat contracts the feline panleukopenia virus which targets rapidly dividing cells.
This virus can sometimes strike just one kitten in a litter, while in other cases, it affects them all.
For Wobbles, tragedy hit hard – her four littermates also suffered from cerebellar hypoplasia, but she was the only one who survived.

Despite her unfortunate circumstances, Wobbles is one happy kitty with an exuberant zest for life – and apparently a voracious appetite!
In a recently shared video, her foster mom Kelly posted on Instagram, Wobbles is seen transforming from a sweet, innocent kitty into a ferocious, hangry beast!
No doubt about it: Wobbles is, hands down, the hangriest feline in all of Missouri! Don’t believe me? Well, see it for yourself:
In the video, Kelly jokingly wonders if she’s caring for a kitten or a tiny velociraptor. While Wobbles may not look much like a prehistoric predator, she’s without a doubt the most adorable wobbly kitten you could ever meet.
Kelly also shares that Wobbles is usually the sweetest companion, but the moment food is involved, she transforms into a completely different cat.

Some cats with cerebellar hypoplasia only experience mild wobbliness, but for Wobbles, the condition is much more severe.
Even so, there’s no reason to lose hope. Despite the challenges she faces, Wobbles is a determined little fighter.
With a few adjustments to suit her needs and the loving care of her foster mom Kelly, she has every chance to live a long, joyful life.

From a young age, Wobbles underwent various physical therapies. Kelly made it her mission to ensure her beloved furball had everything necessary for a fulfilling feline life.
As Smelly Cat Rescue shared:
“Kelly and her brother have done an amazing job caring for her (Wobbles), creating devices that help her live a better life, and have done physical therapy that has helped improve her wobbly ways.”
I think we can all agree that when a cat faces a medical condition, having a devoted owner by her side makes all the difference.
Luckily, our spirited little Wobbles found exactly that in Kelly, a compassionate human ready to give her all the care she needs.

I hope Wobbles’ journey encourages you to think about opening your heart to special needs cats.
As she’s shown, these felines are just as affectionate and full of personality, capable of bringing endless happiness to their families.
Always remember, every cat is purrfect in their own special way – no matter how wobbly or hangry they might be!
