Unfortunately, cat overpopulation is a major issue in many countries around the globe. The primary cause is the unchecked reproduction of outdoor cats combined with insufficient spay/neuter practices.
Additionally, some owners carelessly abandon their cats on the streets without arranging proper accommodation, amplifying the problem and severely impacting the well-being of our feline friends.
Life on the street is often harsh for cats, who rarely have a roof over their heads, a warm place to sleep, or a nutritious meal to eat.
Such was the life of the poor kitty in today’s story, who never knew the luxury of a warm and loving home – until one day, a twist of fate changed her destiny…
Digging Through Trash In Order To Survive
One ordinary day, while a kind woman was running errands, she noticed a poor white and orange kitten nestled around a nearby garbage dumpster.
She had seen the kitten scavenging through the trash for food throughout the week. Whenever she tried to approach, the cat, frightened, would immediately hide.
However, that day, the woman decided she could no longer stand by and watch the cat suffer. She resolved to make a difference.
The woman approached the garbage dumpster and called out to the tiny, scared kitty.
The little feline, extremely skinny and visibly hungry, emerged from her hiding spot with eyes filled with sadness and a plea for help.
Seeing just how emaciated the cat was broke the woman’s heart. She knew the cat hadn’t eaten a proper meal in over a week.
She immediately took out a pack of delicious and nutritious cat food and fed her new friend, who ate quickly and ravenously, savoring every bite.
The woman gave the cat a couple of gentle head scratches, trying to let her know she meant no harm.
The cat trusted her savior completely, allowing her to pet her as she munched on her food.
Once the cat ate, she sought more attention from the woman who saved her, going around her legs and headbutting her as a sign of gratitude.
When the woman realized the cat trusted her, she knew it was time for the next step in her rescue plan.
The Day When Trash Got Traded For Treasure
As the woman was a seasoned cat rescuer and a foster mom, she knew this kitty would make a purrfect addition to her cat-friendly home.
So, without much thought, she scooped up the tiny feline in her arms, intending to bring her home where she would continue taking care of her.
At her new home, the first item on the agenda was – well, more food, of course. The woman fed the kitty some more, after which she was ready to explore her new residence.
Once the cat had checked every nook and cranny of the woman’s house, it was time for her much-needed bath!
Smelling like garbage was a big no-no, so the woman took some warm water and a soft cloth and gently cleaned the kitty.
After she was clean, the kitty explored some more, and then her new owner introduced her to her comfy pink bed and all the cat toys she had prepared – just for her!
With continuous meals and an abundance of love and affection, the kitty blossomed into the happy, curious, and playful feline she was always meant to be.
With a loving new mom and all the comforts one cat could wish for, she now has a promising new life ahead of her – one where she no longer has to dig through trash to survive another day.
