Texas Shelter Dog Gets Excited To See A Visitor Not Knowing She’s There To Deliver Bad News

Many adult dogs that end up in shelters struggle to find happiness later in life. Their chances of getting adopted are very low as people often choose young pups instead.

This was no different for an adorable Pit Bull mix named Bailie. She arrived at the Laurie P. Andrews Adoption Center in Texas as a stray and, sadly, remained there for more than 750 days.

Bailie was often overlooked, mainly because she was an adult dog and unfairly labeled as dangerous due to her breed.

But in reality, all Bailie wanted was to have a home and be loved…

One day, Bailie received a visitor, Aileen Betancourt, a shelter worker. The poor soul got so excited, but what she didn’t know was that Aileen brought very bad news…

As no one had shown interest in Bailie for a very long time, Aileen attached a sign to her kennel saying that the dog’s time was running out.

Sadly, Bailie was scheduled for euthanasia. However, not everything was lost yet.

Though heartbroken, Aileen refused to give up on Bailie. She decided to give her a greater exposure on social media, hoping that someone would see her true beauty and save her life.

Aileen was sure that Bailie would make a great pet. She shared a video on TikTok and wrote in the caption:

“Bailie is sweet, energetic, social with other dogs, playful, confident, and absolutely loves to explore.”

Aileen’s post about Bailie’s tragic story quickly garnered a lot of attention, including from a special woman named Amanda.

When Amanda saw Bailie, she instantly fell in love with her. Believing they were destined to be together, Amanda embarked on an eight-and-a-half-hour ride just to get to Bailie.

After more than 750 days, Bailie finally got her happily ever after. She escaped euthanasia just in time and happily left the Texas shelter with her new mom.

Bailie was so excited during the ride to her forever home that she couldn’t stop smiling.

Amanda promised Bailie that her difficult days were over and that she would never be abandoned again. She took Bailie home, provided her with everything she needed, and helped her settle in.

Once Bailie realized her dream had come true, she completely came out of her shell. She transformed into a playful, happy dog with a loving personality that shone through.

Thanks to Aileen’s determination, Bailie avoided a tragic fate and is now living the life she always deserved.
