Tiny Helpless Puppy Found Discarded Near Dumpster In Yazoo City
Recently, Lisa Reams, the founder of Saving Grace Animal Rescue, received an urgent call about a tiny puppy discarded in a dumpster in Yazoo City, Mississippi.
Determined to help, Lisa headed straight to the location to rescue him. But when she arrived, the puppy was nowhere to be found.
Refusing to give up, Lisa searched everywhere for him, and what happened next broke her heart.
After about an hour, Lisa found the helpless pup cowering next to the dumpster, with no food or water.
The Rescue Mission
As soon as Lisa saw the puppy, she realized he was terrified. She knew she needed to approach him gently. But when she started talking to him, the puppy got scared and tried to hide under the dumpster.
Fortunately, Lisa was quicker. She gently picked him up, and he started whimpering, growling, and trying to run away.
Lisa’s heart broke into pieces. Not only was the puppy scared and helpless, but his health condition was also in bad shape.
He was infested with worms and starving, but thanks to Lisa’s determination, his luck was about to change.
After a few gentle pats and comforting words, the puppy, later named Oscar, finally started to feel at ease.
Before bringing Oscar to safety, Lisa decided to check the area to make sure there were no other puppies. She shared on TikTok:
“I did a thorough search of the area, looked inside the dumpsters, underneath the dumpsters with a flashlight, he was the only one here.”
After that, Lisa scanned Oscar, but sadly, he had no microchip. He had been heartlessly abandoned and left to face the world alone. Fortunately, he was rescued just in time.
Oscar Gets A Second Chance At Life
Lisa wanted to take Oscar to Saving Grace Animal Rescue, however, the rescue was at capacity, so she had to find another solution.
After thinking for a while, she contacted Angie Young, the founder of Southern Mutts, a rescue in Greenwood, Mississippi. She promised to take Oscar into their care and find him a forever home once he’s ready.
Until then, Lisa decided it was best for her to foster Oscar, and that’s exactly what she did. She brought him home, fed him, and gave him a warm bath.
The next day, she took him to the vet. The vets estimated he was around six weeks old, and a thorough examination revealed he had hookworm and ringworm infections.
He was given the necessary medications and returned home with his foster mom, Lisa. She took great care of Oscar and helped him adjust to his new life.
Oscar’s Transformation
In the beginning, Oscar was very shy, but thanks to Lisa’s gentle approach, he slowly started coming out of his shell and showing his true nature.
With each passing day, Oscar grew bigger, stronger, and more confident. He transformed into an absolute cuddlebug who enjoyed receiving all the love and attention.
The only thing left is for Oscar to find a forever home. Until then, he will stay with Lisa and continue preparing for his future life.
