Adventurous Cat In Jersey Leaves Owner Wondering Where He’ll Turn Up Each Day

Some cats are natural-born explorers. No matter how hard their humans try to keep them indoors, their adventurous spirit always finds a way out.
That perfectly describes Bean, a cheeky feline who has turned his love of adventure into a lifestyle.

Bean’s owner, Maisie Bray, knows her boy has always had a unique personality. As she explained in an interview:
“He can either be really calm and chilled or a complete lunatic. There’s not really any in between.”
That “lunatic” side is what eventually fueled his curious escapades. For most of his life, Bean was an indoor cat, though Maisie often took him on walks with a leash.
Those walks gave him a taste of the outside world and, little by little, sparked a love for exploring.

Things really changed when Maisie moved in with her parents in the countryside. With other outdoor cats around, keeping Bean inside became nearly impossible.
The moment he realized he had new surroundings to discover, he was determined to go out and enjoy them.
From then on, Bean became the neighborhood adventurer.

Soon, everyone in the area knew about Bean. He loved following people, slipping through open windows, and showing up in the most unexpected places. Whenever someone spotted him, they would call Maisie to come collect him. She recalled:
“He liked to follow people, which is how he ended up so far away, and he’ll jump into any open window. I’ve had to pick him up from a lot of houses, the park, from two different pubs, three different schools, three different shops, and of course when he ended up in Exeter 52 miles away, but he got a taxi home on that occasion.”
As if his adventures weren’t entertaining enough, Bean’s reaction to being picked up made the situation even funnier. Maisie explained:
“He’s very indifferent when I pick him up. Sometimes he will just jump into my car and other times he will growl and bite me, which is just embarrassing, but he doesn’t do this anymore and just comes home himself now!”

These days, Bean has mellowed a bit, though he still loves his little trips. Now, instead of going too far, he prefers visiting a few favorite spots nearby, such as a local school and the homes of several families who have come to adore him.
Maisie has made peace with his wandering ways. As long as she knows where he is and that he’s safe, she’s happy to let him be the free spirit he’s always been.

After years of adventures, Bean has earned himself a reputation. No longer just Maisie’s cat, he’s become a true neighborhood character, welcomed and loved by many in the community.
Bean may not have chosen the quiet life of a typical house cat, but in his own way, he’s living his best life, spreading joy wherever his paws take him.
