Owners Come Up With A Brilliant Idea To Stop Their Chubby Cat From Eating More Than He Should

Cats and their love for food are no secret. They have a natural instinct to hunt and graze, which translates into an endless curiosity about food.

Whether it’s their fascination with your plate, their constant meowing by the kitchen, or their tendency to swipe food when you’re not looking, cats are always thinking about their next meal.

Yup, our feline friends are real foodies, and sometimes, it takes a little guidance to keep their eating habits in check. 

This is the story of Meatball, a cat dad who had to relearn his table manners once his kittens started on solid food.

Meatball, along with his “wife” Mochi and their adorable kittens, shares a cozy home with their human parents, Koon Wah and Daphnie.

The trouble began when Meatball saw the introduction of cat food for his kittens as an all-you-can-eat buffet invitation.

With his insatiable appetite, he couldn’t resist sneaking in for a bite whenever the food bowls were out. It didn’t take long for Koon Wah and Daphnie to realize that Meatball wasn’t just helping with feeding his little ones; he was turning into their biggest competitor for food!

Worried about Meatball’s expanding waistline and the risk of the kittens going hungry, Daphnie and Koon Wah knew they had to intervene. 

They couldn’t let Meatball’s food obsession get out of hand, especially when the kittens needed proper nutrition to grow strong and healthy.

To solve this culinary conundrum, they decided to take some creative measures. Daphnie recounts their strategy:

“Koon Wah built partitions to separate them during meal times. We also had some fabric from some sake wine we bought in Japan and I sewed these to the front of each partition.”

To be honest, the partitions helped a little with keeping the cats separated during mealtimes, but they didn’t quite solve the weight control issue. As Daphnie noted:

“It has helped a little in terms of separating them during meal times but in terms of weight control, Meatball and Pepper are still a little overweight and the chubbier out of the four cats.”

While this setup helped maintain order during meals, controlling Meatball and Pepper’s weight remained a challenge, as they were still the rounder duo in the family.

Despite their love for food, the Meatball Clan is now on a better path to healthier eating habits. With a little patience and persistence, they learned that moderation is key – even for the most devoted foodies.

Through this journey of teaching a food-loving cat dad some manners, Meatball, Mochi, and their kittens have embraced a balanced approach to mealtime, ensuring a happier and healthier future.
