Anyone who owns a cat knows that…they don’t. You don’t own a cat, they simply grace you with their presence.
Just as Storm did when she popped up as a tiny feisty kitten and brought a hurricane of joy sprinkled with a dash of sass to her hoomans. She was small but had a grandiose personality of a lion.
Just as her name suggests, Storm had survived a tempest when Renae, foster mom and the founder of TippedEars, found her.
It was a miracle that such a small kitten survived the harsh weather, but her life and personality were nothing short of extraordinary anyway. In the video that went viral on Instagram, Renae described the first week after rescuing Storm:
“The first week was tough. I was super careful with her. I was weighing her every single day.”
It wasn’t long before Storm began to show her fierce and feisty personality. Weighing just a pound, the kitten would run around the house and…run the house! She asserted dominance and showed that she was the boss upfront!
“No fear of the cats, no fear of the dog. She would chase them. She is the dominating member of my household.”
Watching her play, Storm’s foster mom soon noticed something was slightly off with her movements; for instance, she would jump back uncontrollably. It turned out later that Storm had cerebellar hypoplasia, known as a wobbly cat syndrome.
Being iconic as she is, Storm was not bothered by this diagnosis and continued to live her best life. We’re taking notes, Storm!
As Renae was a foster mom taking care of stray cats all the time, she soon welcomed another kitten into her family. It turned out to be a success for all parties involved because Storm and the newcomer became besties!
After the initial suspicion toward the new kitten, Storm decided to give her a chance. Jane, as the new kitten was named, was happy to become Storm’s wrestling partner and practice with her daily.
And just like that, friendship was born.
The duo spent some wonderful time at their foster home, playing, learning, and growing together. Jane was an incredible help in Storm’s journey of learning to navigate life with CH. Storm also helped Jane unleash her true potential without fear.
However, the time to say goodbye had come when Jane found her forever home. Although a bit sad, the cats were still happy for each other. They both found loving families who would love and cherish them.
As for Storm, she was kind of a foster failure. The initial plan was to find her another home, but Storm decided differently. She has stayed with Renae, where she now lives a happy life with her pawrents and furry siblings.
