“We always say he’s like a little human in a cat’s body.”
Many people believe that dogs are the only pets capable of forming strong bonds with us, getting excited when we come home, and showing affection.
For years, the misconception that cats are “cold” and possess an “I don’t care” attitude has persisted.
However, it’s time to change that perception! Cats can bond with us just as deeply as dogs, and they can be just as loving and affectionate. The friendship between this Bengal cat and his owner is a perfect example of that!
Mango Brown was just six months old when his forever dad adopted him. He quickly settled into his new California home, and their bond grew deep and strong.
Bengal cats are known for their high energy and need for plenty of playtime to meet their active requirements. However, that doesn’t mean they can’t form strong attachments. On the contrary, Mango absolutely adores his papa!
He might even be a little obsessed with him. And as for people online? They’re just as obsessed with Mango and the loving bond he shares with his owner.
Their photos on Instagram have captured the hearts of over 490,000 people online. Mango’s owners often share their daily adventures as well as random moments filled with cuddles, kisses, and naps.
They do it all together, and it’s simply too cute to handle! Mango’s mom shared that no matter what they’re doing, the bond between Mango and her husband is undeniable. Whether they’re playing or napping, the two are inseparable!
“He will stop at nothing to get the attention and closeness he craves. Mango has always been loving, talkative, and would rather give kisses than be pet. If he’s not napping nearby, he’s following us around the house. When visitors come over, he greets them with meows and kisses.”
Not only does Mango do absolutely everything with his special human, but he’s also bonded with the entire family. He is truly a family member, and there’s no question about it.
His bond with the family is so strong that they don’t even go on vacation without him. As Tiffany shared on Instagram:
“We always say he’s like a little human in a cat’s body – truly a magical, once-in-a-lifetime cat.”
When his ‘mama and papa’ had a baby, Mango was thrilled to take on the role of ‘big brother.’ As expected, they bonded immediately.
They became friends on the very first day, and as the baby grew, it was clear they would share a special connection.
Before they knew it, the baby grew into a big boy, and Mango was right there for him. Now, he has another human to kiss whenever he gets out of his daddy’s embrace.
Mango’s family is so lucky to have him, especially since he is so well-adjusted and can adapt to changes so quickly. Not many people are lucky enough to have their pet bond with their baby on the very first day at home.
But despite all the changes and the people who come and go, Mango still loves his dad the most. As Tiffany says:
“Their cuteness was too much to handle, and their special relationship needed to be shared with the world. Mango radiates happiness.”
And he truly does!
Their friendship, along with Mango’s bond with his dad and the entire family, is something you don’t see every day.
He’s such a well-behaved and loving cat, and the connection he shares with his dad is further proof of how deeply cats can love and bond with us.
Sadly, after 20 wonderful years, Mango’s owners shared some devastating news: Mango has crossed the Rainbow Bridge. They posted a heart-wrenching goodbye online, featuring their son’s final farewell to Mango:
“Our Angel in a cat package is now simply an Angel . His loving energy radiated so strongly that it actually reached around the world . He helped so many through depression , hard times , grief. He inspired pet adoptions. A little glimpse of Mango and he made the world better.”
It’s soul-crushing, but knowing they spent so many great years together helps ease the pain of their loss. They continue to share sweet memories, and you can always check out their Instagram page to enjoy their unique friendship.
Their love is almost palpable through the photos!
