Taylor had no idea what she was in for when she decided to get her first kitten. For months, she had gone back and forth, debating whether or not she was ready to welcome a cat into her life.
But when she met an orange fluffball named Pita, the decision became easy.
Taylor brought the tiny kitten home, and from that moment on, her life was turned upside down – in the best way possible.
From day one, Pita wasn’t a typical aloof cat. Nope, this little one is clingy to the max.
Her favorite activity is wrapping herself around Taylor’s neck, just like a soft, furry scarf that refuses to stay in place. She’ll twist and curl, sometimes purring so loudly that it’s impossible not to laugh.
It’s as if she’s claiming her spot, letting Taylor know she’s exactly where she wants to be – close, warm, and completely wrapped around her person.
Taylor posted a video of Pita doing her “acrobatics,” and it totally blew up online.
In the clip, Pita is happily curling around Taylor’s throat, nuzzling her face, and acting like she just can’t get close enough. Taylor says to the camera:
“I love her so much but I’ve never had a cat before. Can someone explain this to me?”
Before she settles in on Taylor’s lap or chest, Pita has to do what Taylor calls her “figure-eight routine.”
This involves her weaving back and forth, curling around Taylor’s neck and Taylor can’t help but ask:
“Constantly, just figure eights the whole time… So can a cat person tell me what she’s doing please?”
The video quickly went viral, racking up over 182,000 likes and thousands of comments from people trying to explain Pita’s adorable behavior.
Some joked that it’s just because she’s an orange cat. Others thought it was because Pita thought Taylor was her mom, as one person said:
“She’s just a baby, she is thinking you’re her mommy and wants snuggles.”
Well, I think they’re right. Pita’s behavior is definitely a sign of love and trust.
Cats often nuzzle their people to show affection, seek attention, or even mark them with their scent to claim them as “theirs.”
Whatever the reason, Taylor couldn’t be happier with her cuddly little kitten.
Taylor shared more about how Pita came into her life. The kitten had been found in rough shape under a trailer, along with her siblings.
Each of them was in desperate need of care. But Pita was the most fragile, struggling with Feline Panleukopenia – a highly contagious and often fatal virus.
Her odds of survival were slim, but this tiny fighter pulled through. With proper care, Pita defied the odds, made a remarkable recovery, and transformed into the playful, affectionate kitten she is today.
Taylor described the time she adopted Pita as a spur-of-the-moment decision, sharing:
“I’ve always grown up with dogs but always wanted a kitten and got Pita spur of the moment one day after months of debating.”
That spontaneous decision turned out to be one of the best she ever made.
Now about 11 weeks old, Pita is healthy, happy, and full of personality. She’s thriving and living her best life as a spoiled house cat. Taylor shared:
“She is so curious and loves to pick on my dog Loaf… She’s constantly trying to cuddle, has the loudest purr I’ve ever heard, and is always making biscuits.”
Her acrobatics have become a funny, quirky part of their daily life. Her mom doesn’t mind it at all but finds it completely adorable and endearing.
From a sick kitten hiding under a trailer to a beloved family member, Pita has already made a big impact in her short life.
Taylor never expected her video to blow up the way it did, sharing:
“Never in a million years would I think my video of my kitten Pita would ever get this much attention.”
For Taylor, life with Pita is full of surprises, laughter, and endless love – and she wouldn’t have it any other way.
