Smart Cat Pulls Off A Shocking Trick To Get His Breakfast Served, And It’s Going Viral

There’s one fluffy little rascal who’s got the internet howling with laughter. And no, he’s not a dog, though he’s got the same level of mischief in his paws.

Meet Gizmo, a crafty little rescue cat with a big brain and an even bigger appetite.

This clever guy has come up with a sneaky way to get breakfast served right on time, and let’s just say, he doesn’t wait around like your average house pet.

Nope, this fuzzy food-lover has learned how to shut off his human’s sleep apnea machine.

Yep, you heard that right. When the belly growls, Gizmo gets to work. What used to be early morning paw-tapping or face-stepping has turned into something a lot more… strategic.

A couple of months back, Gizmo cracked the code. That mysterious button on the machine? It’s the golden ticket.

Tap it, and boom! The human wakes up, walks to the kitchen, and food is served. Mission complete.

It’s now his go-to move, as his mom, Sarah, shared in an interview:

“He realized it’s the most effective method he’s tried.”

For anyone not familiar with it, a sleep apnea machine, often called a CPAP machine, is a medical device that helps people who have trouble breathing while they sleep.

It pushes air through a mask to keep their airway open all night. Without it, breathing can stop and start, which can be dangerous, especially when a hungry cat is in charge of the off switch!

But Gizmo doesn’t care about bedtime safety. He’s got breakfast on the brain.

And once he figured out that pressing the off switch got results fast, there was no turning back.

The internet couldn’t get enough of this bold little mastermind. A TikTok video titled “gizmo is evolving” shows his clever (and slightly evil) trick in action, and yep, it totally blew up, pulling in over a million views and counting.

People everywhere either laugh or nervously check their sleep machines for cat damage.

Gizmo’s humans, Sarah and Jake, had no idea what they were in for when they brought Gizmo home.

But, while he might be demanding when it comes to breakfast, he’s also a total sweetheart. He’s cuddly, gentle, and always up for a nap on your lap once he’s fed.

But Gizmo’s little trick isn’t as rare as they thought. The comments section was full of fellow cat parents sharing similar stories.

Turns out that CPAP machines are a feline battleground. From chewing holes in the tubing to pretending to eat phone chargers just to get a reaction, cats really are little masterminds.

Sarah was shocked to see so many people dealing with the same kind of breakfast bandit. Some even had to buy special sleeves to protect their hoses, as one commenter said:

“My cat chews holes in the tubing. I had to get a special protective sleeve. They get expensive.”

Thankfully, Gizmo’s antics haven’t affected Jake’s health so far. Sarah shared that everything’s fine at the moment.

And to stop their kitty from powering down the machine, they built a little CPAP shield using a cardboard box. Not the most high-tech solution, but hey, it works!

Of course, Gizmo isn’t the kind of cat to give up easily. Since the button’s now out of reach, he’s gone back to his old ways: marching across their heads to make sure breakfast happens now, not later.

Gizmo’s story shows just how clever, silly, and downright lovable pets can be. They each have their own little quirks and tricks, and somehow, they always manage to become the boss of the house!
