Florida Family Dumps Their Injured Pup In The Woods With Nothing But A Bed And A Broken Heart

Pets are supposed to be lifelong family members. When we welcome them into our homes, we also take on the promise to love and care for them for the rest of their lives.

Sadly, not everyone sees it that way. Too often, animals are treated like short-term entertainment. Once the excitement wears off, many are simply cast aside, as if their lives don’t matter.

That’s exactly what happened to Hank, a sweet little pup found all alone in the Florida woods with a broken leg and clinging to the only belongings he had left.

Hank, a cheerful 8-month-old puppy, had been living a happy life with his family. Unfortunately, that happiness was short-lived. 

One day, his family made the decision that they no longer wanted him. 

Rather than considering alternatives, they left him in the woods with just his bed and some old toys.

The most heartbreaking part was that Hank had no idea what was happening to him. 

Despite the confusion and pain, he remained in the spot where they had left him, waiting patiently for his family to come back.

Luckily, Hank’s fortune changed when a compassionate passerby noticed him sitting motionless on his bed. 

Realizing the puppy had been abandoned and needed help, the Good Samaritan immediately reached out to a local animal shelter, Humans and Animals United.

Without hesitation, the rescue team arrived and took Hank into their care.

The rescue team wasted no time and quickly provided Hank with the critical care he needed. They posted an update on their Facebook page:

“We cannot imagine why anyone would dump him with a broken leg. Left him with his bed, toys, and food in the woods. Whoever you are, please know that Hank is now safe and will never be hurt again.”

Despite everything Hank had been through, there was something special about him that touched everyone’s heart. 

Even after the trauma, he remained a sweet and friendly pup, eager to bring happiness to someone’s life.

Rosa Fond, founder of Humans and Animals United, remarked in an interview:

“He was nothing but love from the moment they got him. Everybody says that he’s the sweetest dog.”

Unfortunately, Hank’s journey didn’t end there. 

The vet confirmed that his leg had been broken for over two weeks, and he was also dealing with several health issues that would require special treatment and a long recovery process.

The severity of Hank’s condition led the veterinarians to suggest euthanasia as a way to relieve his pain. 

However, the team at Humans and Animals United wouldn’t entertain that idea. They knew Hank deserved another chance at life and were committed to helping him.

Hank began his treatments, and with the constant care, affection, and attention from his rescuers, his spirits were lifted.

Once his heart-wrenching story was shared online, people were moved by his plight, and many generously donated to support Hank’s recovery. 

Thanks to their kindness, Hank underwent his first surgery, and his healing journey began.

He made remarkable progress, proving his strength and determination to overcome every obstacle in his path.

Thanks to his determination and steady progress, Hank eventually grew strong enough to begin a brand-new chapter.

In his foster home, he thrived under the care and affection he was given, all while patiently waiting for the day a forever family would choose him.

I’m certain this resilient little pup eventually won someone’s heart and finally found the loving home he had always been hoping for.
