Pup Found Hiding Under A House In Los Angeles, Struggling At Such A Young Age

A small ten-week-old puppy was recently found hiding beneath a house being built in Los Angeles. No one knows exactly how she ended up there.

Some thought she might have simply strayed too far from home, while others suspected something far sadder – that someone had left her behind.

Whatever the reason, this tiny pup was completely on her own, trying to survive without comfort, care, or protection. At such a young age, each day was a battle just to stay alive.

The puppy, later named Savannah, had never really experienced human care. Her early life had taught her caution, and she instinctively stayed hidden from strangers.

Whenever she ventured out, it was only to dart for food left by concerned neighbors before retreating back to the safety of her hiding spot.

She shivered in the cold and kept herself out of reach under that house, wary of anyone who might pose a threat.

Neighbors, seeing her struggle, tried to help. They left food and even a blanket to keep her warm, but Savannah stayed hidden.

Worried about her well-being, they reached out to Suzette Hall, an independent rescuer known for her dedication to helping animals in need.

Another rescuer, Mary Nakiso, joined the effort, and the two women arrived determined to get Savannah to safety.

At first, capturing the tiny pup was no easy task. Savannah stayed under the house, too afraid to come near. Hours passed as the rescuers patiently watched, waiting for the right moment.

They eventually set up a humane trap, hoping to coax her in without scaring her further. Suzette described the tense moment in an interview:

“I went to put more hot dogs in the trap and I noticed the food trail had been eaten. So, I decided to check the backyard and under piles of metal, I saw her little face looking out.”

Seeing Savannah all alone, shivering and frightened, was almost too much to bear. With the neighbors’ help, they carefully moved the metal construction pieces and slipped a lead around her neck.

Savannah was scared, but Suzette spoke softly, coaxing her until she finally entered the trap.

At that moment, everyone’s hearts ached. The sight of such an innocent pup, left to fend for herself, was devastating.

Savannah’s life under the house was a lonely, frightening existence. She had only ever known fear and the need to hide.
