NYC Cat Caught In Stranger’s Suitcase At Airport Makes It Home For The Best Thanksgiving Feast

You know how some cats act like tiny troublemakers the moment you look away? Well, Smells, the famous ginger adventurer from Brooklyn, took that to a whole new level.

And honestly, when you hear what he pulled off, you’re gonna shake your head and laugh at the same time.

So picture this: it’s right before Thanksgiving, everyone rushing around, suitcases wide open on the floor.

And right in the middle of all that chaos, Smells decides this is his moment to shine.

Instead of doing normal cat things, like napping on clean laundry or knocking things off tables, he casually slips himself into a guest’s open luggage like he’s checking into a tiny hotel room for a surprise vacation.

Not a single person notices. Not one suspicious whisker. This kitty was committed to his getaway plan.

Before anyone realized he was gone, this little stowaway was seconds away from being flown straight to Orlando.

And that’s where our heroes, the Transportation Security Administration, step in.

During a regular security scan at JFK Airport, officers suddenly paused. Something in one suitcase looked… off.

The X-ray showed a little curled-up shape that definitely wasn’t socks, jeans, or someone’s forgotten shampoo bottle.

So they took a closer look and saw the clear outline of a cat curled up inside. Thankfully, they pulled him out right away and saved him from a very unexpected vacation.

After a few hours stuck in that cramped little space, Smells popped out safe, unharmed, and probably wondering why everyone looked so stressed.

Instead of flying to Florida inside a suitcase, he got the real prize: a warm, cozy Thanksgiving back home in Brooklyn. Honestly? He came out way ahead.

The TSA even posted a hilarious tweet with Smells sitting proudly in front of a full Thanksgiving dinner spread, licking his whiskers like the king he is.

Lisa Farbstein, a TSA spokesperson, jokingly wrote:

“Smells, the cat who TSA recently rescued from a checked bag at JFK Airport after he snuck into a suitcase in an attempt to fly to Orlando, enjoyed Thanksgiving at home in Brooklyn. Apparently, Smells was planning to chase after a big mouse he heard was running around Disneyworld.”

And what a meal he got. A plate piled with meat, green beans, mashed potatoes, and yes, even a glass of red wine sitting beside him.

I mean… Smells absolutely did not earn all that pampering, but we can’t blame his family. He’s adorable.

As for that mysterious glass of wine? No one really knows if it was meant for Smells or if he simply decided it looked interesting enough to claim.

Cats keep their secrets close, and he’s definitely the type to act innocent while planning his next “great idea.”

One thing is clear: life with Smells is never boring. This kitty has more adventures than most people.
