Cat Befriends A Mouse Instead Of Hunting It

Cat Befriends A Mouse Instead Of Hunting It

Sharing is caring!

We all know cats love to hunt mice, but sometimes our indoor cats don’t have that instinct since they’re well-fed pets.

Our pet cats are pretty spoiled if we were to compare them to their wild ancestors. So if a mouse gets into your house, your cat might not jump to catch it right away.

However, this cat named Simon surprised everyone by not only letting a mouse roam freely in the house but becoming friends with it!

This cutie became an internet sensation once his owner shared a video of him hanging out with a mouse.

Simon’s owner, Benjamin Sagredo, heard strange noises in the kitchen and discovered a mouse living in their home. He expected Simon to chase it away, but Simon had other plans…

This was a surprise to Benjamin because he thought that that wasn’t possible because he had a cat!

Simon should have hunted down the mouse, right?

But Simon is not like that. As the internet was about to find out…

“I decided to record it. I thought no one would believe me.”

Benjamin tried to get Simon to catch the mouse, but instead, Simon seemed to be petting it and allowed the mouse to drink from his water bowl. It was both funny and surprising.

Simon’s friendly nature isn’t so unusual, since he grew up with two dogs and acted like a third dog himself. Now, he’s made a mouse friend too!

Simon grew up with two dogs in the house, so he often acts like a third dog himself. And for the mouse, Benjamin says:

“He’s been back several times, we love that Simon accepts him. He’s a very affectionate and sociable cat. If the mouse keeps coming, we’re going to have to adopt him.”

After the video went viral, Benjamin created an Instagram account for Simon’s fans to follow his unusual friendship with the mouse. Share your thoughts in the comments!
