Washington Woman Finds A Kitten Abandoned In A Box With An Alarming Note Written On The Lid

While out jogging with her dog in Kirkland, Washington, a woman never imagined she’d stumble upon something that would completely change the course of her day.

As they moved through an alley, they came across an abandoned cardboard box. At first, she didn’t think much of it, but her dog wouldn’t budge, sniffing insistently around it.

Intrigued, she stepped closer and discovered it was serving as a makeshift home for a tiny kitten.

But what truly caught her attention was a message scribbled in orange marker on the lid, one that instantly made her heart drop.

The note, seemingly written by a child, revealed a heartbreaking story, one of mistreatment and a desperate plea for the kitten’s safety:

“My mommy’s boyfriend is mean to me. desperet for loving home,” it read.

Touched by the heartfelt plea, the woman knew she couldn’t turn her back on the kitten’s plight and decided to step in.

She brought the tiny furball home and quickly arranged a vet visit for a full check-up.

Thankfully, the vet confirmed the kitten was in good health despite what she had been through. After receiving the needed treatments, however, she still required a safe place and someone to look after her.

Still processing the shock, the woman thought of a solution. She took the kitten to Kirkland’s MEOW Cat Rescue, where she was warmly welcomed.

Once the rescue staff heard her story and read the heartbreaking note, they were both deeply moved and stunned, sharing in a Facebook post:

“We have more questions than answers, but are forever thankful for the bravery of the child who knew the kitten deserved better and the kindness of the woman who saved the kitten.”

Without delay, the rescue placed the kitten in a caring foster home alongside other kittens her age. There, she got a real chance to heal and grow.

Despite everything she had been through, the little cutie adapted quickly. Her playful and affectionate nature shone through in no time.

With a bit of luck, she’ll soon find a forever family who will love and treat her the way she’s always deserved.

I truly believe things happen for a reason. That day, the woman and her dog were in exactly the right place at the right moment, and because of them, this tiny kitten now has a second chance at life.

Thinking back on the events, I’m deeply moved by the bravery of the child who spoke out and quite possibly saved the kitten’s life.

Their brave act shows that even in tough circumstances, there is a way to make a difference, and I really hope this courage will pave the way to their own safety and happiness.
