It was just an ordinary day for this community until they were interrupted by strange sounds.
Following the noise, a few community members came to a flower pot and were left in awe by what they discovered.
Inside the flower pot were four newborn kittens, crying out in distress. The furry babies were snuggled together among tattered leaves on potting soil, trying to stay warm.
Realizing the kittens needed help, the community members knew their mother was somewhere around, so they went to look for her.
After some time, one of them finally spotted the mother cat in the distance. However, she was a skittish stray, too scared to come near humans.
Desperate, the community members reached out to their local animal shelter whose volunteers instantly embarked on a rescue mission.
However, the sneaky mother cat decided to make the rescue more difficult. While the community members were waiting for the rescuers’ arrival, she moved her babies to a neighboring yard and hid them under the porch.
Fortunately, the rescuers were well-prepared. They set up a humane trap near the porch and patiently waited for mother cat to get in.
Finally, after a few hours of waiting, mother cat was caught, and the rescuers proceeded to safely get the kittens out.
After a long but successful rescue mission, this furry family of five was brought to the shelter. They were provided with a quiet and comfortable room just for them, but the mama cat, who was named Hadora, didn’t seem to like it.
She curled up in one corner of the room, refusing to eat, and seeming terrified. One foster volunteer couldn’t stand seeing Hadora in such distress, so she sat with her, reassuring her she was safe.
Slowly, but surely, Hadora began to relax and eat. For the first time, she sensed true love and safety, allowing her foster mom to handle her babies. Celine Crom, a member of animal rescue, shared:
“The foster mom watched the kittens every hour to ensure they were doing well. When some of them lost weight or stopped eating, she supplemented them with a bottle until they were strong enough to nurse again.”
As Hadora settled in, she spent most of her time with her kittens, carefully tending to their needs. With a loving mother and proper care, the kittens grew quickly, opening their eyes and starting to wiggle and explore.
While the kittens were busy exploring the new scents and looking at everything around them, Hadora spared some time to explore her environment.
The whole furry family was doing better than expected. Both Hadora and her babies received all necessary treatments, and soon they’ll be ready for their forever homes!
Hadora and her kittens got a second chance in life, all thanks to the compassionate community members and rescuers who reacted swiftly.
