Las Vegas Homeowner Hears Squeaky Cries From The Bushes And Can’t Believe What’s Inside

A man was tending to his flower beds outside his home in Las Vegas when he heard desperate cries coming from his bushes.
He leaned closer and pulled back the branches. And that’s when he saw them.
Huddled in the shade of his yard, two wide-eyed kittens stared back at him. They were trembling, too scared to make a sound now, almost frozen in place.
Someone had cruelly tossed them near his fence, and the siblings had crawled under the bushes, clinging to the only scrap of shelter they could find in the blazing heat.

The man’s heart sank. He had no experience with cats. But he knew one thing for sure: leaving them there wasn’t an option.
So he did the only thing that came to mind. He pulled out his phone and googled: best shelter near me.
That quick search led him straight to Homeward Bound Cat Adoptions. He dialed their number, and the shelter staff told him to bring the kittens over right away.
They knew these babies wouldn’t survive long if left in the heat.

The man didn’t even have a box or a carrier in his home. He looked around in a panic, searching for anything that might work.
Finally, he spotted a Whole Foods Market paper bag on the counter. It wasn’t much, but it was all he had. He carefully placed the kittens inside and rushed to the shelter.
Later, the staff shared the whole story on Facebook, sharing:
“A gentleman discovered these two in his yard. They were dirty, underweight, and covered in fleas, and one of them had a small laceration across her face. He knew something would likely harm them and wanted to help.”

When the staff opened the bag, two little faces peeked up at them. They were badly dehydrated and neglected, with small cuts on their skin and fleas clinging to their fur.
Thankfully, aside from the fleas and minor injuries, the kittens were otherwise healthy.
The man who found them may not have had the money, the supplies, or even the knowledge of how to care for such fragile little lives, but he saved them anyway, as the shelter shared:
“He gave what he could, but admitted to being short on funds and apologized for not having anything to transport them in, not even a box, so he brought them in a paper bag. Truly, he just wanted to help.”

The staff named them Gingerale and Dr. Pepper and placed them with an experienced foster mom who would give them the round-the-clock care they needed.
In their foster home, they were given food, water, medicine, and most importantly, love. They were wrapped in soft blankets, kissed on their tiny heads, and told that everything was going to be okay.
The goal now is to help them heal completely and grow strong enough for adoption.
And when that day comes, everyone is hoping they’ll be adopted together, so that these two little souls who endured so much side by side will never be separated.

Thanks to the kindness of one man and the dedication of the shelter staff, Gingerale and Dr. Pepper’s lives were saved from what could have been a devastating ending.
It’s moments like this that remind us of how much difference one caring heart can make.
Two kittens who had no chance on their own now have a future filled with love, comfort, and safety.
