Rescuers Find Two Shy Kittens Struggling On Philadelphia Streets And Step In To Save Them

Let me share the heartwarming journey of two precious kittens who were once struggling on the streets but found a loving future thanks to a dedicated rescuer.

This story begins in Philadelphia, where a pair of shy tabby kittens was spotted by animal rescuers from Kolony Kats, struggling to survive on their own.

They were desperately looking for food and shelter, completely unaware that help was on its way.

The rescuers knew that the kittens were too fearful to be taken in directly, so they wisely set up a humane trap to ensure their safety and prevent them from running away.

To their relief, the rescue mission went smoothly, and the kittens were quickly brought to safety.

Finding A Foster Home

Once the kittens were safely caught, the next task was to find them a loving home.

Erica, a volunteer at Charlie’s Army Animal Rescue in Philadelphia, stepped in to help the moment she heard about two adorable kittens that were rescued from the streets.

When they arrived, the kittens hadn’t been socialized much, having had little human interaction before.

The poor furry souls were understandably frightened, staying hidden for the first few days. As Erica shared:

“They were barely five weeks old. For the first day or so, they wouldn’t come out of their carrier, or they’d run back in whenever I came in their room.”

However, to Erica’s surprise, the kittens soon transformed and became affectionate, purring and eager to engage with their new human friend.

Remarkably, it took these feline twins only 48 hours to transform into loving purr machines. They surprised Erica by how quickly they warmed up to her.

No longer did they seek refuge; instead, they embraced their new lives and decided to take the most out of them.

Tabby Twins Loving Their ‘Foster Dads’

Once settled indoors, the kittens, now named Big and Little, began adjusting to their new life. Their bond grew stronger when they met Erica’s resident cat, Forest.

Forest, an expert in welcoming new kittens, was eager to meet the new feline friends from the moment they arrived.

Yet, the twins had to wait to be perfectly healthy to be able to hang out with other felines.

In the meantime, they communicated through the door, anticipating the day they could finally meet. Erica recalled the moment:

“When he started singing, one of the kittens ran up to the door and started meowing.”

Finally, once the tabby twins were ready to meet the rest of the feline crew, they became the happiest kittens in the world.

To everyone’s delight, they seamlessly integrated as if they had always been a part of the clan. Erica explained:

“My two adult cats, Forest and Sloane, love kittens, and they have helped Big and Little with their confidence and learning kitten manners.”

Erica’s cats quickly accepted the new kittens and began showering them with love and affection. Big would snuggle next to Sloane to be loved on, while Little would curl up next to Forest.

They were all so adorable together, especially when Forest would wrap his paw around Little as they napped. Erica said:

“Sloane was taking a bath, and Big climbed up next to him, so he could get a bath, too.”

Sloane and Forest proved themselves to be purrfect foster parents, always helping Erica on her mission with foster kittens. She said:

“They taught them how to play nicely and just be good kittens. I often find them sleeping curled up with one of their ‘foster dads’.”

Big and Little turned out to be real attention seekers. They would simply flop over on the side with their belly up, and start purring, asking you for attention and long cuddle sessions.

Big and Little, playful and loving, soon became the center of attention. They were affectionately spoiled, constantly seeking attention and cuddles.

Erica shared how they quickly adjusted to their new indoor life, settling in and becoming part of the family.

Big took the role of the confident leader, with Little following his lead, and they both quickly found a place in Erica’s bed each night.

Happily Ever After

Once these twin kittens completed their socialization journey, they were ready to find their forever home, a place where they could grow and thrive together.

Finally, after a couple of months of waiting, they found a purrfect family. Big and Little, now known as Obi and Anakin, were adopted by a loving family who already had two other cats, Simba and Nala.

Their new mom reported that the kittens quickly made themselves at home, running around and settling into their new environment.

This heartwarming rescue journey highlights the difference that dedicated rescuers and loving families can make.

From street kittens to cherished pets, Big and Little’s story is one of transformation, love, and second chances.
