When the fire broke out in Las Vegas, a tiny 4-week-old kitten found herself right in the middle of it all. Her chances of survival seemed slim, but thankfully, a compassionate individual stepped in just in time to save her.
The kitten was rushed to The Animal Foundation, where she received emergency veterinary care.
She was badly burned, trembling with fear, and her tiny paws and whiskers were scorched. The veterinary team immediately began treating her wounds and administered pain medication to ease her pain.
“Her paws are burned, and she may need foot bandages. She is on medication to help with pain, and she’s in our incubator to warm her up.”
The rescuers named her Savannah and devoted all their efforts to saving her and helping her recover.
Unfortunately, her injuries turned out to be more severe than initially expected. The skin on her burned areas began peeling, and her paws, tail, and face were badly damaged.
Thankfully, a compassionate foster family stepped up to take her in, determined to provide all the care she needed.
“Burn wounds can become infected, and she’s even more susceptible because she’s so young. She’s receiving round-the-clock care and being carefully treated.”
The shelter also reported that Savannah is making progress and thriving in her foster home:
“Our sweet Savannah who was rescued from a dumpster fire is getting comfortable and healing in her foster home. She’s enjoying wet food and spending time with her foster mom. This tiny girl needs several weeks of rest and recovery. We’re so grateful for everyone who donated to Savannah’s care.”
Savannah is a true fighter! With the way she eagerly enjoys her food, it’s clear she’s on the road to a full recovery.
The shelter is incredibly grateful to everyone who donated as she’s now doing much better. Her foster mom is overjoyed to witness her transformation firsthand.
Savannah will stay with her foster family until she’s fully healed and finds that special someone who can provide her with a forever home.
The shelter continues to share updates about her progress, so if you think you could be that special person to give Savannah the love and care she deserves, reach out to them on Facebook!
