The power of the motherly instinct truly has no limits, as proven by an adorable mother cat adopting three just-hatched ducklings.
Meet Ronan and Emma Lally, who own a small farm. They decided they wanted to have ducks on their farm as well, so they got themselves three fertilized eggs.
Having only three fertilized eggs meant no mother ducks to raise the ducklings, but they would be perfectly okay, as Ronan and Emma would take great care of them.
Well, that wasn’t enough for the farm’s cat who had just given birth herself!
After the three ducklings hatched, the mother cat decided to take them under her care, and raise them as her own!
Ronan and Emma were amazed by how loving the mother cat was to them, and she even nursed the ducklings! How amazing is that! Ronan says:
“There’s something very strange happening here – something strange and also something unique.”
There’s A Lovely Ending To The Story
Ronan and Emma were initially scared of the cat eating the ducklings, but luckily that did not happen. The cat herself had recently become a mother, so her motherly instincts overpowered her predatory instincts!
After the ducklings had grown up a bit, Ronan and Emma thought they should separate the ducklings from the cat, as they were afraid the cat might decide to eat them.
However, when Emma saw how loving the cat was to them, she decided there’s no need to separate them.
