While many stray cats are left outdoors to fend for themselves, this tiny black kitten decided to take things into her own paws and leave the stray life behind.
She seized a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity when she heard a group of people and quickly jumped out of the woods, leading to an exciting turn of events.
A group of volunteers frequently visits a local garbage dump to help community cats, but one day, they made a shocking discovery.
As they were walking around, the volunteers heard desperate cries coming from the woods. Suspecting it was a cat in need of help, they began calling out, and just a few seconds later, they saw a tiny black kitten dashing towards them.
What shocked the volunteers the most was that they hadn’t seen the kitten the evening before, assuming she had been abandoned in the meantime.
To everyone’s surprise, the kitten was extremely friendly despite being abandoned. She couldn’t stop purring and rubbing against her rescuers, as if she knew her life was about to change for the better.
The volunteers named the kitten Bean, brought her to the shelter, fed her, and gave her a safe and comfy place to stay.
The next day, Bean received a thorough examination, where it was discovered that she was around 10 weeks old and had a leg injury that needed treatment. The shelter staff shared in an interview:
“She was brought to the shelter and sent to the vet due to being unable to bear weight on her front left leg. Luckily, it wasn’t broken.”
Once Bean received the necessary treatments, she was ready to go to a loving home where she would be loved and cherished.
Bean turned out to be very lucky, as she quickly found her forever human. Wendy Thomas, who had already adopted a cat from the same shelter, came across a post about Bean and instantly fell in love with her.
As soon as Wendy contacted the shelter about Bean, they knew the two were a perfect match.
Bean went to her new forever home and instantly settled in. She adored her feline brothers and her new human friend from the moment they met. She’s now living her life to the fullest. Wendy shared:
“She loves to play in boxes and the little kitty play house and has taken over the top spot on the cat tower. She is still very possessive over food, having had to fight for it during her time at the dump, but she is learning there is lots to go around.”
Surrounded by loving company, Bean is growing bigger and stronger every day and is living a beautiful life, thanks to the kind-hearted humans who didn’t turn a blind eye to her.
